Hi there, remember me? I'm not going dump you with excuses and apologies for my absence because that's boring and I assume you come here to look at pretty things and sewing or gardens. The truth is I have been swamped with important duties since handing in my thesis that have limited my blogging ability. These include, but are not limited to, devouring towers of un-educational books, drinking enough tea to sink a ship
(what a funny saying), and hiding under the desk in my study wishing for a cleaning fairy to tidy my apartment after the tornado that was completing a thesis.
See? Very busy. Very important.
Well here's a little update in the world of Reana Louise:
First, I've decided to grow out my short hair and I deserve all of the eye-rolls and exasperated sighs I expect you're dishing out right now. Obviously I'm rubbish at choosing a hairstyle that actually suits me and would happily give control of my appearance to someone who has a clue.
T Lo, are you listening?
Second, the garden is flourishing and I've been giddily snipping herbs, plucking berry-sized tomatoes, and gazing lovingly at a small, growing pumpkin.
And third, I actually used my sewing machine. Are you amazed? Cecil the sewing machine was. I imagine he was also slightly taken aback by my pushing an
entire garment through him after such a long period of neglect. It's a simple dirndl skirt made from cotton voile, lined with cotton rayon, and the waist band is japanese cotton. It is therefore dubbed 'the cotton-fest skirt,' and hopefully it will be perfect for the scorching summer days that have already bled into our "spring."
I apologise for these person-less pictures, but I'm about as good as using the self-timer as I am at telling a hairdresser what I want. If all goes to plan my next sewing post will be full of my gloating, smug face on account of my fancy new dress.
Until then!
Reana Louise xo
